The Congress will contest all 70 seats in the Delhi elections next year, ruling out any chance of allying with the AAP or Opposition parties.

Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav also made it clear that the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate will be made by the Congress Legislative Party after the elections. The elections for 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly are due in February 2025.

The developments assume significance after Congress failed to maintain its momentum in the recently concluded assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra and fared miserably compared to its Lok Sabha performance.

Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced his party will contest the upcoming Delhi elections independently without any alliance partner of the INDIA bloc. The party had earlier contested polls solo in Haryana after it failed to reach a consensus on a seat-sharing arrangement with Congress.
