In fact, Lenovo may be launching two gaming handhelds very soon. The successor to its popular Legion Go flagship, and a smaller, more affordable handheld we now know is called the Legion Go S (previously called the Legion Go Lite).

The Legion Go S leak shows it will come in a white colorway with non-removable grips and triggers that resemble the first Asus ROG Ally. The current Legion Go model has removable controller grips, like the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.

When Valve released the Steam Deck, PC manufacturers realized there could be a new market for small, handheld computers that are capable of running games.

The Lenovo Legion Go has a huge 8.8-inch display, runs Windows, and includes detachable controllers like the Nintendo Switch.

Some clear changes from the original Legion Go include a more rounded look, a change in layout with the Menu and View buttons now closer to the display, and having no touchpad. However, the biggest change of all is the lack of detachable controllers — one of the Legion Go's unique highlights.

Renderings appear Windows Central has gotten its paws on some leaked renderings of the Legion Go S. For those not in the know, Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld gaming PC cost $700 when it launched in the spring.

The more affordable Legion Go "S" is expected to be less powerful than the Legion Go based on the Z1 Extreme, but will be a more affordable option potentially for those looking to jump into the ecosystem.

While it’s tempting to think that means the Legion Go S will be a step backward, keep in mind that Valve’s Steam Deck continues to be one of the most popular handheld gaming PCs several years after launch, and it has a AMD “Aerith” and “Sepiroth” chips featuring Zen 2 CPUs and RNDA 2 graphics.
