The King and Queen have waved off the Emir of Qatar and his wife at the end of their two-day state visit to the UK. Charles and Camilla stood on the steps of Buckingham Palace to watch Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher leave the grounds of the royal residence.

The British Royal family rolled out the red carpet for the Qatari leader who rode in a carriage along streets lined with Qatari and British flags.

King Charles and Keir Starmer welcomed Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for a state visit to Britain on Tuesday that the prime minister hopes will help build on the Gulf state's investment in the country.
