More bodies buried under the mud have been found in eastern Uganda and an injured person died in a hospital, bringing the death toll from this week’s landslides to 20.

The death toll from a landslide triggered by heavy rain in eastern Uganda has climbed to 17, a government spokesperson said on Friday, with more than 100 others missing.

At least 113 people are missing, and at least 15 people are known to have died after a landslide in eastern Uganda, the police say. The landslides triggered by heavy rainfall affected multiple villages in the Bulambuli district, about 280 km (178 miles) from the capital Kampala.
