Massive traffic snarls caused inconvenience to commuters crossing the Delhi-Noida border on Monday as police set up multiple barricades and deployed heavy security in view of a farmers' protest march

Farmers from Uttar Pradesh staged a large protest at the Noida-Delhi border, demanding fair compensation for acquired land. Led by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the farmers' "Delhi Chalo" march aimed to draw Parliament's attention.

Meanwhile, a ban has been imposed on all types of goods vehicles traveling from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, as well as from Sirsa to Surajpur via Parichowk.

The farmers are marching to demand compensation and benefits, including a legal guarantee on the Minimum Support Price (MSP), under the new agricultural laws.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed farm leaders to persuade protestors not to obstruct highways or cause inconveniences to the public.

The Noida traffic police have issued a traffic advisory in view of the farmers' protest march from Noida to Delhi.
