A new wildfire was reported today at 4:02 a.m. in Riverside County. Davis Fire has burned two acres of private land. At this time, the containment status is unknown and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

More than 200 firefighters battled the blaze and by Friday afternoon had managed to contain 15% of it, officials said. Containment refers to what portion of a wildfire's perimeter has been surrounded by a natural or human-made control line.

Fire authorities have issued evacuation warnings as an 85-acre wildfire burns near Canyon Crest Drive in Riverside County. The Canyon Crest fire was first reportedThursday evening and its cause remains under investigation, according to the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection.
